We officially closed our run of Vaudeville Today at the University of Tampa! Working on a show of this large a scale as-is has tricky experiences and challenges to overcome, let alone helping put a show like this together in the middle of a pandemic!! To the cast and crew: thank you for your patience and understanding as the creative team navigated the new waters of live theatre during COVID. To my incredible Stage Manager, Abby Schaeffer: Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!! You were my rock throughout this entire process and you have no idea how much I appreciate you!! I couldn’t have done this without you by my side as the incredible Stage Manager that you are.
Thank you Dr. Bob for allowing me this opportunity to work with your cast, crew, and vision to help bring some live theatre to the UT community right now. And finally, thank you to everyone who came to the show in our limited capacity auditorium and to those who watched via live stream because you allowed us to share our art and our creative vision with all of you, which is something I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to do for a very long time. I have hope that this is the first stepping stone in more safe, live theatre productions that will come!
