Ashley to Represent Tampa Bay Area Committee on Foreign Relations as Terrell Sessums Young Leader

I am incredibly humbled and honored to have been selected as one of two Mark Orr Foreign Affairs Fellows from the Tampa Bay Area Committee on Foreign Relations (TBACFR) to represent the committee this summer at the American Committee on Foreign Relations (ACFR) Young Leaders Initiative (YLI) as a Terrell Sessums Young Leader.

The ACFR Young Leaders Initiative takes place in Washington D.C. and enables young leaders to engage in “conference table” briefings and active exchanges with U.S. government officers, think tank scholars, and other international affairs professionals. It will also serve as a great opportunity for me to meet and connect with other young professionals in the field of international relations!

I would like to express my gratitude to the selection committee for allowing me the opportunity to not only represent the Tampa Bay Area Committee on Foreign Relations at the Young Leaders Initiative, but for a wonderful year of insightful discussions and wonderful presentations from top-notch speakers. The members have been so encouraging and supportive of all my endeavors and ambitions and I can only hope that one day I will be able to return all of the favors and gifts that you have given me.

I look forward to sharing my experiences with the committee after the program takes place in June this year! Thank you again for this opportunity. I hope to represent you all to the best of my abilities.
