As many of you know, I consider myself a storyteller first and foremost as an artist. And whenever I have a chance to share a story that is so personal to me, it is a true delight.
If you are like me and thought the first edition of Epilepsy: You Are Not Alone could not have been improved upon, then you are sorely mistaken because Stacey Chillemi has done it yet again! This book has everything that I loved about the first edition; it is a wonderful resource for anyone who has epilepsy or anyone who wants to better understand what life is like for those with the condition. It shares personal accounts of the many different ways in which people live their lives with epilepsy. It walks you through ways to continue living life to the fullest despite the condition. And most importantly, it makes someone with epilepsy feel seen and heard. I cannot recommend this book enough as a resource for anyone who is struggling with epilepsy who might need some encouragement, but more importantly I cannot recommend it enough for friends, family, and medical practitioners who are trying to better understand people in their lives who face the challenges of epilepsy.
As always, it is a pleasure working with Stacey. And I was beyond honored when she asked for me to share my story as a part of her latest edition. Having Epilepsy can be a rollercoaster of emotions, and I don't particularly enjoy talking about it because I never quite know how people are going to respond to the information. But having personally experienced how moving the stories shared in Stacey's previous editions were, I couldn't pass up the chance to possibly be that small glimmer of hope for someone else who might listen to or read this version of the book.
If you haven’t used Audible yet, but want to listen to the book, please feel free to use the link below to really help me out and to support more future productions/publications!
Thank you again to Stacey Chillemi, the ACX Team, and everyone who helped support me throughout this production process. As always, it is an honor to be able to help share your story.
