It's that time of year when it is time for the Chamber Singers and Camerata to share all of their hard work for the semester with a lovely audience at the University of Tampa. The Chamber Singers had an impressive variety of music to learn this semester including: Lasciatemi morire (Monteverdi), Nunc Dimittis (Mendelssohn), Geistliches Lied (Brahms), The Word Was God (Powell), It Was a Lover and His Lass (Rutter), Things That Never Die (Dengler), and Nyon Nyon (Runestad). I was honored to sing as a part of the featured quartet as the Soprano in the Mendelssohn Nunc Dimittis which was particularly special since I've been anxiously waiting for some German choral music for the past three years.
This concert was also extremely bittersweet as it meant it was time to say goodbye to the senior class of 2022. As a soon-to-be four year member of the Chamber Singers, many of the seniors were the first people I met in the music department after my arrival on campus. Making beautiful music with them over these past three years has been incredibly special and there are many memories I am not likely to forget anytime soon. Thank you to the senior class for being such an inspiring group of artists, musicians, and people to look up to and for all of your guidance and friendship over the years. I am so honored to have worked with each of you and am so excited to see all of the wonderful things you will accomplish in the coming years!
